The company aims to create devices that can directly interface with the human brain to treat neurological conditions, enable symbiotic communication between humans and machines, and potentially enhance human cognitive capabilities.

The fundamental goal of Neuralink is to develop high-bandwidth, minimally invasive brain implants that can both record neural activity and stimulate the brain. By decoding and encoding neural signals, these devices could potentially enable bidirectional communication between the brain and external devices, such as computers or prosthetic limbs.
